Local 1338 has decided to join the fight against cancer by participating in the relay for life walk here in Shelby Twp. The walk takes place on May 31st. starting at 10:00am.
It will be a 24 hour walk-a-thon at river bends park located off of 22 mile rd. west of Shelby rd. The idea is to have at least one team member on the track at all times throughout the day. So participation from any member, family, or friends would be greatly appreciated.
Again it is a family event so kids are welcome. There will be a DJ and fun activities going on throughout the whole day. Come and go as you please. There are no set times or amount of people in which to walk. The fire Dept. will have a station (camper) set up along the track with refreshments, and our smoke house with firefighters giving demonstration of fire safety.
Remember it's for a great cause, and if you can't participate you can also donate to American Cancer Society by going to the the website provided below under team name shelbyfire. We also have envelopes at each station with tax receipts.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you there!!!
Any questions feel free to contact Matt Signorello at matt_sig@yahoo.com

I think we all need to extend a heartfull thank-you to the negotiation team for all of their hard work and sacarafice on this last negotiations/mediation/arbitration. 4 1/2 years is a long time to work on something like this, but they did it and didn't give up. Now we only have 1 1/2 years left of this contract.
